hayneedle davinci kalani dresser review and giveaway

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 5:35 PM 158 commented
When I designed Kendall's nursery I of course had the perfect dresser in mind to match her perfect crib. We ended up going with a Espresso theme for her (since I like dark wood) and I love everything about it. We didn't need a dresser though since we decided to hang all of her baby clothes.

Makenna on the other hand was using my grandma's dresser and it didn't match her white and pink theme room. Hayneedle sent us the DaVinci Kalani 4-Drawer Dresser to review so she would finally have a white dresser that would fit perfectly in the room.

Assembly was super easy and John finished it in just 30 minutes. The instructions were so clear and easy to follow along with, not even an electric drill was necessary!
This dress is made with Pine wood so you know it's strong and each drawer can hold 30 pounds (my 6 year old!), even though I'm not sure I would ever test that out.

 DIMENSIONS:
22W x 34.5D x 41H inches

I love the height of the DaVinci Kalani Dresser. It comes up about half way up the middle of the window in her room. Great height so Makenna can reach the top of the dresser but it doesn't block out any light at all! Plus, she doesn't lose storage space since the drawers are very deep.
The Dresser is available in 5 colors: Cherry, Ebony, Espresso, Honey Oak, White you will definitely find a color that matches any nursery or bedroom.

messy carpet from the foam in the box :/
My favorite features are the curved accents of the legs and top. Simple touches like that are actually important to me so I'm glad DaVinci took the time to add those details.

Hayneedle is giving away a $75 giftcard to my readers so you can pick out whatever you want!!

**I was sent the product(s) free of charge by the company or PR representative. It has been used solely for the purpose of this honest review. The views are strictly 100% my own. Receiving the product did not influence me to produce a positive review**
Giveaway is open to USA only. It will end and close on October 21st @ 9:00pm EST. Any entries made after such time will not be counted and will be removed from the list. Winner will be contacted via email & will have 24 hours to respond. If winner does not respond their prize is then forfeited and a new winner will be selected.

dream backyard

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 2:10 PM 6 commented
aww to dream? It's fun times isn't it. What makes this dream suck though is it probably will never come true, lol.

Hayneedle has made it so easy to create your dream backyard with their Backyard Escape application on Facebook though so of course I went ahead and created what my perfect backyard would look like.

My backyard of course has a beautiful lawn. I've always wanted a fit pit a ton of seating around it so friends and family could enjoy the outside on our cool Florida nights. A calm pond area next to my amazing veggie garden of course, a place for the hubby to grill out (every night please) and of course a place for the kiddos to have fun.

My yard looks no where like my dreams but one day I hope I could have it. If you build your dream backyard Hayneedle could help you out (as I hope they will help me out too) because they are giving away weekly prizes and $10,000 to someone so they can have their dream backyard! Isn't that freakin' amazing?! So, if you want to win your dream backyard go build it on Hayneedle's Facebook page and if nothing else, have fun while doing it!

let's bounce!! hayneedle bounce house review and giveaway!

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 11:18 PM 447 commented
I have a love/hate relationship with our Florida weather. It was freezing one day and now it's scorching hot with humidity that could kill someone. I'm a sweaty person so the humidity and I are not friends, lol. Sorry was that too much info?
So on the days where I love our perfectly cool evenings with a light breeze, we play outside. With the help of Hayneedle, they make Spring and Summer time play that much easier. You can shop in one place for all our outdoor play things, BBQs, lawn mowers, inflatable water slides and so much more I swear!

We were sent the My Little Princess Bounce House by Kidwise that Hayneedle sells! Makenna had no idea it was sitting in the garage for a couple days. One a nice day we set it up and when she came home from school she was so excited to see it on the front lawn!

I love that everything is included so we didn't have to go out and buy a special blower or a part to attach to the air pump we already have for our cars.
Also included is 8 stakes, easy instructions, a repair kit and a carry bag.

Set up was extremely simple and took all of about 2 minutes. We have a nice size yard, front and back, but it's not the best for things like this because front, sides and back are pretty hill-y... if that's a word, haha. Please don't mind our patchy brown spots of grass it's a work in progress if you read previously. Side note: you can totally tell where our yard ends and the neighbor's yard is. They sooo don't care about their grass.

The air pump has 2 holes on either side that need to be staked into the ground, along with the bounce house which also has 2 holes on either side so of course it doesn't tip over, that would not be good.
It literally took about 45 seconds to inflate the whole castle which is great if you have little kids eager to bounce and play.
Castle Info:
Dimensions
7.5L x 7.5W x 6H feet
Material
Heavy Duty Vinyl
Weight Capacity
200 lbs.
Weight
35 lbs.

I love the pink-and-purple color scheme and beneath the turrets is a roomy bounce area with side netting to protect kids from falls. the My Little Princess Bounce House castle is ideal for children age 3 to 8 years old, and like some of the other small bounce houses on Hayneedle this one can accommodate two 100-pound kids at a time thanks to the 200 lb. weight capacity. The lightweight 35-pound design is easy to move also, which is great.

Shhh we broke the rules, we let Kendall play in it before Makenna got home from school. She had a blast playing with the ball pit balls we threw in there. So yes, even though the age restriction is for 3 years old we knew Kendall was safe since no other kids were around her.

And of course, once Makenna was home from school and changed our of her uniform clothes she jumped on in and had a blast! Her words are that, "It's so bouncy and funnn!" :) So take it from a 6 year old, this castle is awesome.

The most exciting thing about owning your own bounce house is knowing you don't have to rent one for a birthday party and your kids will have endless fun and burn off all that extra energy almost every day if you let them!
When the little kiddies are done bouncing and practically putting themselves to bed, it will only take you about 6 minutes to completely flatten out the bounce house once you turn off the air blower! It lays down pretty much exactly how it looked in the beginning all my itself but let me tell you... that pretty little square you see in the 1st picture, yeah it has never folded up like that again. We can still get it into the carry bag, thankfully but what I wouldn't give for it to look nice and neat.

Our next buy has to be one of the water trampolines that Hayneedle sells! Have you seen how cool these things are?! We live close to so many lakes that this would be a perfect investment!

Hayneedle - Storkcraft Monique Crib Review & Giveaway

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 12:26 PM 542 commented
Hayneedle.com is another one of those amazing sites that has pretty much everything you ever need on one convenient site. I love Hayneedle though because they carry the greatest brands and comparable prices - even down to regular disposable diapers!
Hayneedle has a collection of over 200 online stores that each offer price guarantee... so if you find a site with a better price, let them know and they will match it! So really, there isn't a need to shop at store to store and pay lots os shipping & handling fees.

I was so excited when I found Cribs.com which is one of the 200+ stores under Hayneedle. I fell in love when Hayneedle said they would send me the Storkcraft Monique 4-1 Crib. All the baby cribs were wonderful but I loved the smooth lines and finish on the Monique.

This lovely box was suppose to arrive at my house just 6 days after it was shipped. Due to the storms that were going on from Oregon to the mid west this delayed the delivery of the crib :(
Sad yes but I know it was not Hayneedle's fault, so I can 100% say that I am confident in the fast shipping that Hayneedle provides.
The box was huge and really heavy so once we opened it I knew we were in for a long night of assembly. I was pleasently surprised that the instructions were so clear and easy to follow. It only took DH & I about 35 minutes to put together and be ready for Kendall to sleep in.

The Storkcraft Monique is extremely sturdy and solid. Our old crib along with others we have looked into pretty much fell short in the "solid" category. Always feeling flimsy or that they could tip over with even the lightest touch. Of course that may be an exageration but even still, I don't have that worry with this crib.

It goes so well with the other furniture we have in Kendall's crib although they are not part of the Storkcraft set.

Hayneedle has such a large selection of nursery furniture and baby gear though that I'm pretty sure I'm going to be shopping some time soon so I can get the rest of the set from them!

Hayneedle makes it so simple to connect to them via Twitter, Facebook or even their blog!

You can purchase directly from the Cribs.com website!
Hayneedle has offered a DDM winner the chance to pick out their favorite crib bedding set. The value has to be $100 or under.
