They believe in unique, affordable, and natural products that should be on our babies and ourselves.
I love that they offer a Cloth Diaper 101 page that will answering some of your burning questions such as caring for your diapers, troubleshooting (leaks, stripping), and how to care for your wool. While your at Snaps and Snails you can also check out their Baby Wearing 101 section that can help teach you how to properly wear your baby, and how to choose the perfect carrier for you.

I love that they accept Paypal as a form of payment and offer FREE SHIPPING to all USA/Canadian customers!! If you live locally in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality they can even drop your packages off to you or arrange for a pick up time - how awesome is that?!

Snaps & Snails offers they uniquely named Yo-Yoo diaper on their site. The Yo-Yoo is a onesize pocket diaper that fits babies 5-40lbs that come in 6 brightly colors. Yo-Yoo diapers have a water-proof outer layer, a soft bamboo inner layer and each diaper comes with one bamboo insert. The Yo-Yoo Insert is plush and absorbent, each is made up of 4 layers of organic bamboo and feature a snap, in which you can snap the insert into place inside the diaper. Sponsor Spotlight - Sandbox Lane giveaway

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 10:05 AM 661 commented

I'd like to welcome Sandbox Lane to the "Bye Bye Sposies, Hello Cloth" event!! Sandbox Lane is another one of my most loved one-stop shops! They carry swaddle blankets, baby clothing, feeding accessories, toys and of course cloth diapers!

After trying to shop online for their daughter, Sandbox Lane was created because they could never find everything they wanted, especially eco-friendly products at affordable prices, in one place.

While some stores offer the same thing (eco friendly), Sandbox Lane only carries products that they can stand behind. They love all the products they sell and if they wouldn't suggest them to a friend or family memeber then you won't see them on the site!

Because Sandbox Lane carries so many things and so many different brands of cloth diapers, we want you to choose! I have one $25 gift certificate to giveaway to a lucky reader. This way you can buy your favorite brand of diaper, or maybe you need a diaper sprayer or some more Rockin' Green Soap because you're running low. :)

If you want to buy something you can receive 10% off using code: DDM2011 and you can also earn extra entries for buying something. It's always a good time to add to your stash but having a discount makes it that much better!

Oeko - Glider and Ottoman - review and giveaway

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 9:56 AM 784 commented
I came across Oeko furniture late last year and I knew I loved them. Oeko (pronounced Eco) has been around since 1978 producing eco-friendly, clean, simple and contemporary furniture.

Their collection of furniture is definitely designed for the eco minded person and even if you may not be a "crunchy" mom you can still appreciate how thoughtfully these products have been made.

The fabrics that Oeko uses have natural fibers, greener polyester, and have recycled material or are recyclable. At first I thought this fact would make the cushions a little rough but I was wrong. No, they don't feel like silk but it's definitely comfortable to sit on.

Another amazing thing that makes Oeko a great product is the water-based paints, varnishes, stains and glues that are used. They are all either formaldehyde free or meets/exceeds the European Union E1 Standard and USA P1 standard; low or no Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s)! This makes me especially happy to hear since I'm sure at some point Kendall will be a curious little baby and try to eat a leg on the chair or something, lol. She's a crazy lil baby so I only expect the craziest things from her, haha.

Oeko sent us the Charlotte glider set to review. When it arrived I didn't know what to expect so it sat in the box for a while. I was not about to take on a project without John around to save me.
The glider did need to be full assembled but once hubby and I decided to tackled assembling the glider, it wasn't that hard. It took us about 45 minutes to put together. The directions were pretty clear except we had the chair on the base backwards because the directions did not explain which way it was supposed to be placed on the base.

Once we had it fully assembled John and Kendall sat in it and instantly fell asleep for 1/2 hour. I think they would have slept a lot longer but then the doorbell rang :(
We now rock Kendall almost every single night because she loves it so much.

As I said before, I received the Charlotte glider which has a locking mechanism. The Cassidy glider which is the same as Charlotte except it does not lock - it can be purchased from Babies R Us, Sears and even CSNstores.com!
Two winners will win the Cassidy Glider (non-locking)!

Figure 8 Maternity - Charlie Banana - Review and Giveaway

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 12:58 PM 771 commented

Sometimes I really wish I was pregnant again so I can shop at places like Figure 8 Maternity. Why, oh why couldn't i find this shop last year!?

You can shop at Figure 8 Maternity during your pregnancy, post-partum, nursing and even for baby! Besides carrying cloth diapers, they carry maternity clothing and accessories, breast pumps, baby carriers, diapers bags, and seriously so so much more!

When it comes to pregnancy and motherhood Figure 8 Maternity believes that the one thing that doesn’t have to change is your sense of style and love for quality. I love that they offer free shipping, %5 loyalty credit, easy returns and no sales tax (on clothing only)!

When it comes to cloth diapers, Figure 8 Maternity carries Thirsties Duo, bumGenius and Charlie Banana.
I was sent a Charlie Banana one size pocket diaper to review and yes, I never stop being excited about receiving Charlie Banana in the mail.

As I've said before Charlie Banana diapers are some of my favorite diapers. From the trimness of the diaper, to the absorbency, to the bright colors - everything about them is just amazing.

There are a total of 4 snaps for the perfect fit. One thing you may notice that is different is that the pocket to stuff the insert into is in the front of the diaper instead of the back. Unstuffing is a challenge at first but it's especially helpful when Kendall is sitting in her activity center and the poo goes up the back of the diaper. The pocket being in the front helps in those situations since nothing gets underneath the top liner and PUL area.

The one size diapers use an elastic leg adjustment (like adjustable pants for a toddler). the elastic ranges from 1-7 with 7 being the largest for an older baby. I love how affordable these diapers are, ranging from $18-$20 or you can buy a 6 pack which will save you a few dollars along the way at only $110.

As I've said before I do like one size diapers a little better because it's nice to have the exact fit.

Sponsor Spotlight - Cloth is Green - Itti Bitti Giveaway

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 9:28 AM 974 commented

You may not have heard about this next sponsor but that will change soon. Founded in just August 2010, Cloth Is Green is a business that focuses on high-quality, innovative products for babies and moms.

After doing her own research about the different types of cloth diapers, Meghan, was inspired to start selling diapers. Cloth Is Green only wants to carring the best quality and [mostly] natural material fabric products.

Meghan is still getting her site fully up and ready but you can find diapers such as Itti Bitti, Little Beetle, Sprout Change and Bamboobies!

Generiously, Meghan has donated 2 Itti Bitti diapers and CJ's Butter to one DDM reader!

Who or what is Itti Bitti you may ask?
Well Itti Bitti is a Australian based company that was just released in the USA last week! Established in 2005 when Sue McLachlan, designed a uniquely shaped, fitted cloth nappy to suit her itty bitty daughter. Sue’s design was extremely trim, much more trimmer than anything else on the market at that time. The slim crotch and high cut shape of the front suits not just small babies but those with chunky legs as well, with a super snug fit making them truly as tiny as a disposable.

Itti Bitti makes 3 different types of diapers but we're going to focus on two of them today!

Bitti Tutto is a one size pocket diaper can be used in four different snap settings, fitting babies from 6.6 lbs to 44+ pounds!! With the Tutto they've solved the "pooplosion" problem you might sometimes have with any diaper (disposable or cloth).
The Bitti Tutto has a complete internal gusset, protecting the sides and back – it’s their patented ‘poo fence’! lol.
The Bitti D'lish comes in two options - Snap In One or All In One. The SIO comes apart, you can re-use the outer 'shell' like a cover, replacing wet booster sets with dry ones making SIO's perfect for travelling or space saving in your diaper bag. There is 8 layers of bamboo for a highly absorbent nappy, suitable even for heavy wetters (you can expect the nappy to last 3-4 hours or more). What I love is that there is no need for the diaper and inserts to be taken apart and put back together for washing and drying (but this will make drying times faster), so that's definitely a time saver and you don't have to touch anything icky.

If there isn't enough all ready, what makes Itti Bitti different is that each insert has color coded snaps. So when you recieve your (included) 3 inserts you'll always know how to snap them back together to get the perfect absorbancy.

Believe me, once I prepped my Tutto and D'lish I looked at all 6 on my bed like, "WHOA! What would I do without these snaps?" Also, each insert has a name tag on it, not just "Itti Bitti" but it says what type of diaper so you won't get the inserts mixed up, although you can interchange them if you wish.
You can win:
1. Itti Bitti Tutto
2. Itti Bitti D'lish
3. 4oz tub of CJ's Butter
(your choice color diapers and fragrance of butter)
