A wonderfully huge Thank you to Kidorable & to all of you wonderful readers who entered! :)

---------------------

In 1997, Kidorable sprung from the minds, hearts and efficiency apartment of Liping and Jonathan Domsky. They wanted to see children's apparel and accessories that were both functional and fun.
Children, it turns out, absolutely and unconditionally love Kidorable and so every year since the debut, give or take, a new style and/or product line debuted which has been loved more then the year before, give or take.

Kidorable started out small with just lions and cats and bears, then manifested as umbrellas and hangers. Currently they carry even more then that including matching backpacks, knit hats, scarves, towels, shirts and even bookends!

Kidorable caters to both girls and boys specializing in rain gear apparel.

PhotobucketWe were lucky enough to review the *new* Lucky Cat style design. Kidorable sent us Lucky Cat Rain Boots and Lucky Cat Rain Coat. I didn't know what to expect when I opened the box in the mail but I was pleasantly surprised how the rain boots were packaged! They came in their own unique little 'shoe box' with a ribbon handle, perfect if you wanted to give these as a gift.
I asked for a size 10 in the boots because that's Makenna's current shoe size and surprisingly (since most boots Makenna owns run smaller then normal.) they were a little big on her, but I do love shoes and clothes being slightly bigger then too small. Definitely not lacking in durability Makenna took to the outside to test these bad boys out! As you can see the outer side of the boot had a cute little fish with bubbles on it, while the inner side of the boot sported a cute little gray mouse.

PhotobucketMakenna's new raincoat was just as adorable with great features and attention to detail. Sporting cute little cat ears, a see-through fish bowl pocket & white cat pocket on either side. It also fit a little big on her even though I asked for the 5/6. Because it was new and the 1st time she was wearing it the gathered hood pretty much closed up around her face but that has since not been a problem (lol, it was cute though as you can see in the picture).

Another cute little thing about Kidorable is that they have a Birthday Club! You can sign your child up and 30days before their birthday Kidorable will send you a free gift plus a special offer that's only available to Kidorable Birthday Club Members!

A crazy preggo mess

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 11:54 AM 10 commented
So it was a VERY sad day 2 days ago. We decided to take our beloved cats back to the SPCA.

Last year our kitten, Kitty Kitty a.k.a. Oscar died after he was only about a week old. So the same day John took us down to "look at other dogs but then on our way out he wanted to just go check out the other cats. John saw these two kittens that were only a couple months old and we both instantly fell in love with them. They were brothers that got turned in just days before. The problem... John is highly allergic to cats! Why would someone that's allergic want a cat? Well because he loves me very much and he knew I was upset over Kitty Kitty's death. So we adopted our new furry brothers and there began my love! ♥
We've always struggled with John's allergies and it's been a hard battle but we've dealt with it.

Lately it's just become too much. Maybe his allergies are becoming worse but they were shedding WAYYYY too much, so that's probably a huge cause of it.
I vacuum multiple times a day, everyday but the house was literally becoming a huge fur ball no matter what we did. I tried switching cat shampoo & giving them more baths then normal but like I said, nothing was helping.
Even if I washed our clothes they would still come out of the wash with orange fur all over them! So it's hard enough having the fur everywhere but when my allergic husband has to wear clothes that have fur on them & a lint roller doesn't really help... that creates a problem.

Also, John has had concerns with having them around Kendall. He isn't sure how they will react and just doesn't want her and her stuff covered in hair as well. Although I continue to tell him she isn't going to be the first newborn around cats, he still has his right to be concerned over his daughter, ya know.
I suppose I understand the reasons but that doesn't help anything.

Phoenix was my hyper baby. He would sleep on my bottom pillow since I always have half of it sticking out from under the top one. So I'd fall asleep feeling/hearing him purr while having my hand on him.

Tiger ALWAYS slept with Makenna. He loved her sooo much. At bed time he would practically lay on top of her head since he also slept on her pillows. I would find him curled up with his paw on her head and her hair covering his head since he buried it under there.

They truly were the best kitties and this has been one of the hardest decisions I've had to make in a long time.
I am a high believer that pets are in no way shape or form disposable and when you adopt one it's for life. But if you understood the severity of our situation (because yes... there is a little bit more to my story) then you would understand that my hands were tied.

Thank GOD the SPCA does not euthanize animals due to the length of time they are in the shelter & they will never transfer them to another shelter so I do know they will be safe and be healthy until someone else can adopt them.

But now for the past 2 days I have not been able to fall asleep until about 3-3:30 because I'm so used to our nightly ritual. Now that he's not here I'm pretty positive that Phoenix's purring always put me to sleep, plus having my hand on his soft fur was a comfort thing. So now at night is when I begin to cry more about them.

Today I think we're going to go down to the SPCA and see if they are still there. On the other hand I don't want to and know I shouldn't because it's just going to kill me more to see my babies all caged up. And then if one has been adopted but not the other... omg, I will not be able to see them separated like that. We adopted them together because they are brothers and I want someone else to adopt them together as well.

I know this is not just pregnancy hormones getting to me. I truly miss them and I want them back so bad.  :(

Phoenix and Tiger sleeping in their bed. All squished up, lol.

Sleeping on daddy (last year).

"Showering Mommy & Baby" Giveaway Event! - Uncommonly Cute Review & Giveaway

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 10:12 PM 432 commented

**CLOSED**

Winner: Random.org #301 - Gustosa

-Winner has been emailed & will have 48 hours to respond-
A wonderfully huge Thank you to Uncommonly Cute & to all of you wonderful readers who entered! :)

---------------------

Photobucket

So we all want our kids to look cute when we go out, right? And don't you hate it when you're walking through the mall and you see see 3 other kids wearing the same shirt as your son or daughter? I sincerely hate it!! When I came across Uncommonly Cute a couple months ago I instantly fell in love because I knew Makenna would look great in the clothes and wearing such a unique and cute tshirt she would definitely stand out of the crowd. Let me tell you a little more about this great site I found!!

It's called Uncommonly Cute! Founded in 2004 Uncommonly Cute specializes in making sure our individual little people have little individual clothes that match their personality.
All of their pieces are made of 100% combed cotton and is super, super soft. They're all machine washable, safe, durable and made in sweatshop-free studios. So that makes this mommy very happy :)

PhotobucketI was sent a T-Shirt for Makenna and a onesie for Kendall (but I'll touch on that in August for another review, hehe!). Makenna was sent the "I Love You-ABC" T-Shirt. When we received our package in the mail we discovered there was a 4T and a size 6. Makenna usually wears a 5 and because Uncommonly Cute does not carry size 5, Eric thought it best to send both sizes.

Photobucket

Isn't it the cutest thing ever??!

Makenna has practically lived in the tees. The size 6 is a little long but of course it'll fit her in no time. In the pictures she's wearing the size 4. With all the washes I've put them through there has not been any shrinking or fading of the Red lettering one bit, so the site definitely lives up to what it says about it's clothing.

Uncommonly Cute is inspired by trendy (but speechless) babies everywhere and if you want to walk around getting (more) stares then normal then I definitely suggest you put your baby / toddler in these hip and Cool Toddler and baby clothes! Uncommonly Cute even carries cute little baby shoes
where you can use their "Build a Bootie" to (again) make sure your baby is wearing the most unique shoe that no other baby on the block will be sporting!

Another great thing about Uncommonly Cute is that they are involved in two great organization charities that help babies everywhere. I definitely think you should check out the sites and get more great information! Room to Grow and R Baby Foundation are just a couple!

Huge Thank You to [Bump] Babies & to all of you who entered this wonderful giveaway! :)

--------------------

Renae Plant from Queensland, Australia is the creative designer for the [Bump] Babies. After becoming pregnant she was concerned that most people just thought she was letting herself go. She wanted to scream, “I’m not fat--[bump] on board!
Disappointed to find that nothing catered to the first four to five months of pregnancy before the [bump] finally “pops,” Renae decided to create and wear her own maternity designs on her growing belly that reflected her sense of style and humor. That’s when [bump] was born!
Bump stands for:
  • Baby
  • Under
  • Manufacturing
  • Process

Her designs are so popular that they have graced the beautiful preggo bodies of Gwen Steffani, Britney Spears, Gillian Anderson, Maggie Gyllenhall, Marcia Cross, Dayna Devon, Brook Burke, Jennie Garth, Jennifer Meyer, Amanda Peet, Tori Spelling, Jaime Pressly, Melanie B, Sarah Wayne Callies, Keri Russell, Jenna Elfman, Naomi Watts, Nancy O’Dell, Jaime Lynne Spears, Jillian Reynolds, Elizabeth Hasselbeck, Bridget Moynahan, Salma Hayek, Nicole Sullivan and Ali Landry just to name a few!!

Currently, Renae juggles three young children, her husband and soul mate, her talent management company and [bump] babies. Oh, and she most recently saved her kids local preschool Camelot Kids - so now she runs that as well. www.camelotkids.org!

We know that pregnancy is one of life's most beautiful experiences and we recognize that just because you are pregnant doesn’t mean that you need to lose your sense of style.

Renae kindly sent me the [Beach Bump] in Lime w/ Aqua to review! I was surprised when I opened my package I found two tanks, one in a S/M and one in a L/XL! :)
This super soft breathable tank is made with 100% cotton and has 3" side slit vents! I LOVE wearing the S/M out and about (I wear the L to bed)! I get tons of comments about how adorable my shirt and [Bump] is.

With Summer coming up it was great that Renae sent me a tank. In the Florida heat it's always best to wear as little clothing as you can get away with (lol), especially while your pregnant. Soon we will be going to the beach and I will definitely be sporting this adorable tank.

You'll be happy to know that [bump] also carries tees, yoga pants, tees for dad, and accessories.

Some of my favorites that I would LOVE to have are the:
[bump] baby under manufacturing process and the Hands Off My [Bump] Vneck.

You can wear the  [bump] baby under manufacturing process as a scoop neck or left it fall off the shoulder (as pictured) for a cute flirty look. Again, it has the 3" side vent slits and is made with 100% cotton so you can be sure to stay cool and comfortable. With the Hands Off My [Bump] you can be sure to let those "bellytouchers" know your [bump] is not public property! I for one hate people touching my belly so this T would have be perfect for me.

Buy it:
You can buy [Beach Bump] Tank for $44.00 right now! :)

26 Weeks

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 2:46 PM 5 commented
So I missed my 25 week update. Not sure what I was thinking last week. As you may know we switched from the Birthing Center to an OB-GYN that works with one of the hospitals. We are a lot happier now so that's all that matters. It's an OB-GYN that has 3 women; 2 Dr's and 1 midwife, so I'll still get my may with how the labor and birth goes and John feels better that we're in a hospital (and honestly, I'm happier we're in a hospital too..). Other news is that I had to take my gestational diabetes test last week. Already got my results and we passed with flying colors so yay :) Me and baby are great (always knew we would be, hehe).
This week I feel like Kendall popped out more to the front and of course I'm getting bigger by the second :) Looking at my counter (on the right sidebar) I am completely freaked out that it says "about 99 days remaining". 99 DAYS! We're in the double digits now and that's sooooo exciting yet surreal.

As of last week Kendall began to hear us and she should now be able to recognize sounds like Saydie barking or even me yelling, lol. She's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of her lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when she's born and takes that first gulp of air. And she's continuing to put on baby fat. She now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches from head to heel! She even opens and closes her eyes and is learning how to blink.

I've been getting more and more tired lately again. Breathing is something I forgot how to do without trying, and John is constantly having to tie my shoes for me already. My back has been hurting the past... week or so and I definitely not excited about that. I didn't experience any back pain with Makenna at all during my pregnancy with her so this is something very new to me.
And lastly... the leg pain! :) I DID experience this with Makenna but really not until mid-late into my 7th month so the pulling of my ligaments this early has been horrible.

--------------------------------------

-How far along? 26 weeks.

-How big is baby? Almost 2 pounds and about 14 inches!

-Weight gain/loss? 134.

-Maternity clothes? Just shirts. Just got a Bella Band because my jeans can't fit anymore. BUT to my defense I ALWAYS wore tight pants in the first place so it's not surprising that I can't wear them now.

-Stretchies? Nothing new!

-Sleep? Same ol'. She is not keeping me up (yet...)

-Best moment this week? Getting more

-Movement? 24/7 :)

-Food cravings? nothing comes to mind. Ask John... lol. I'm sure he can tell you something.

-Gender? GIRL!!

-Labor signs? None.

-Belly button in or out? Still in!! Hopefully it stays that way.

-What I miss? Being able to stand for more then 5 minutes before getting tired. Also, in those 5 minutes not having to pee 1 million times.

-What I am looking forward to? Finishing her nursery.

I love that I look so cute and everyone can tell that I have a preggo belly! Here I am at 25 1/2 weeks:

"Showering Mommy & Baby" Giveaway Event! - KSS Maternity Review

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 12:23 PM 2 commented

I came across a wonderful Etsy Shop called KSS Maternity when I was shopping for maternity clothes. The great thing about KSS is that all her clothing is eco-friendly.
I was sent the "Pitter Patter Heart" t-shirt. The unique Bamboo fabric is 100% earth friendly! I've never worn or owned anything that was made from Bamboo and now I know what I've been missing out on. Bamboo made the shirt EXTREMELY soft and comfortable. KSS makes their shirts Form fitting cuts them a little long so you can wear it from beginning to the very end of your 9 months. I loved sleeping in my "Pitty Patter Heart" shirt. I thought the black would make me hotter especially at night but it's so breathable it kept me so comfortable.

Another plus is that they are made in a sweatshop free environment which always makes me smile. They sell a great range of sizes from Small-XXL.
Check out KSS Maternity's other amazingly cute shirts:

You can buy all the amazingly cute comfortable maternity shirts for only $25.00!!
