When I say the words BellyBar I'm sure everyone by now knows exactly what I'm talking about... right?
Well if not, Bellybar makes snack bars, drinks, nutritional Bellybar chews and chewable vitamins for before, during and after pregnancy!

For the longest time I stared at them in Babies-R-Us, not buying them because it's really hard for me to try new things. Again, I saw them in Motherhood Maternity and while John was trying to convince me to just get 1 to try it, I again passed it up, fearing I'd hate the taste.
Then, something that I couldn't pass up, Bellybar offered to send me some of their products to review!

I was sent:

Even with them in my house I still just stared at them for a couple days, lol. I knew I HAD to try them to I could write my review but what if they were gross, what if they made me sick to my stomach, whta if they were chalky?
These were just some of the questions in my head. Nothing against BellyBar but like I said, I'm HORRIBLE at trying new things, especially nutrition bars and shakes.

Well finally I got up the courage and grabbed the S'more to Love bar and Due for Chocolate milkshake and headed off to my doctor app. To my surprise BOTH were soo good. The milkshake wasn't gritty like I imagined and it didn't have that overpowering protein flavor. It tasted like a real chocolate milkshake!
My doctor saw me drinking it and gave me props because the shake has 32mg of DHA & 8g of protein plus an extra little boost of fiber and calcium that both baby and I need!
The S'more to Love bar was also delicious and I didn't get that protein bar flavor with it either (it also has 8g of protein). It sorta reminded me of a Quaker Chewy Bar!

Now that I wasn't so scared I tried the other two flavors and the chews I had in the following days.
I have to say that the S'more to Love bar ended up being my favorite bar but I loved that the Baby Needs Chocolate bar comes with 800mcg of Folic Acid, 18mg of Iron and 50mg of DHA, so nutritionally I knew it was better for Baby K and myself.

The Chocolate Cuddles chew was sorta like a Tootsie Roll for adults. It took me a minute to get used to the texture but soon I loved it. Citrus isn't my favorite flavor in the world in the first place so I feel bad judging it but I'm sure other people will love it.

In the end, BellyBar delivers (no pun intended, lol). It will satisfy your pregnancy cravings for chocolate while giving you and your baby a little boost. You can feel confident that you're snacking on something delicious and good for the two of you instead of a chocolate chip cookie.

Eating these yummy bars and milkshakes prior to pregnancy is still a great idea because you can stalk up on the much needed vitamins and minerals that can actually HELP you conceive, like folic acid.

Lastly, we all know while your breastfeeding you should still be taking your prenatal vitamins so again, keeping a stash of the BellyBar products is a great idea for some extra vitamins and DHA in your system for baby. Also, they now make a chewable prenatal vitamins that has everything we need and baby needs including calcium, folic acid, and iron!
