itti bitti review and giveaway

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 12:10 PM 82 commented
Are you ready to Fall In Love... with Itti Bitti? The weather has definitely been changing in our neck of the woods and some even have snow on the ground even though it's not even Halloween yet.
If you've never felt an Itti Bitti then you are missing out and once you touch them you will fall in love with them.
The outer part of the diaper is a soft luxurious minky but yet it doesn't require a cover! What makes Itti Bitti unique is that each diaper (Bitti Tutto, Bitti Boo or Bitti D'Lish) comes with snap in inserts with color coordinated snaps in the diaper.
Ayannah
Just in time for the Fall Itti Bitti has release 4 new Limited Editon prints that you must get your hands on. they include the above Ayannah, the fun Carnivale, Ponder and Zebra! These LE prints are available for the Bitti Tutto and the Bitti D'Lish SIO and AIO.
We received the Bitti Tutto in Ayannah and like the other Itti Bitti diapers we own this one is just as soft and the fit is amazing.
Each Bitti Tutto comes with 3 inserts to mix and match 5 different ways in your diaper to get the perfect absorbency for your babe. The soaker pad are extremely thin that are 70% Bamboo and 30% Organic Cotton for amazing absorbency and protection against their little bums.
The Bitti Tutto is a one size diaper that fits newborn (8lbs) - a child.. yes child (44lbs!!). If you have a late potty trainer this diaper is perfect for them instead of buying disposable training pants since most cloth diapers don't fit toddlers/kids that are that big.

There are a lot of snaps involved with the Bitti Tutto so it's easy to get intimidated at first glace but because it's a one size diaper that fits from newborn it's necessary to have all the snaps. There are 4 snap down settings (5 including the "unsnap" choice) so you truely get the perfect fit no matter what the size of your babe. My daughter is 16 months old and I leave her diaper unsnapped. We still get a tight fit around the legs and I especially love the low rise since Kendall doesn't have a very long torso.

One feature you might love for your newborn or skinny baby is each Bitti Tutto has "hip snaps" (see stock picture above) on the inside so you can snap and tuck away those pesky side wings.

Have an active baby or breastfeeding... or both? Well the incredible power of the Poo Fence (again see stock picture above) has been sewn into each Itti Bitti diaper to help stop those messes from escaping out the sides or back of the diaper!
Although still semi-new to the states these nappies from Australia are becoming more and more popular because of the great features I mentioned and more. You can purchase the Bitti Tutto for around $27 or for the rest of October if you buy 4 you get one FREE at Kellyscloset.com.

charlie banana - goodbye disposables giveaway!

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 12:50 PM 476 commented
I first told you about Charlie Banana earlier this year but I know most of you have heard of these great diapers already!
Earlier this year Charlie Banana released a limited edition "Goodbye Disposable Hello Cloth" diaper! This crisp white diaper with bold lettering was an instant hit and I bought one right away. I even changed K into it at the Great Cloth Diaper Change Event!

Today I am giving away TWO "Goodbye Disposable Hello Cloth" diapers!

Let me tell you some of the great features of this diaper though! First off, Charlie Banana is the only diaper my husband will use. He says they are the easiest to use and he just places the reusable insert right on top of the cover instead of using it as a pocket diaper.

The one size feature of this diaper helps you customize the exact size and fit for your ever changing baby. With the elastic leg adjustment (like adjustable pants for a toddler). the elastic ranges from 1-7 with 7 being the largest for an older baby.

The only complaint I have is I don't personally feel they are the trimmest diaper on the market. Here you see she has a fresh clean diaper on but it looks full from the front.

One thing you may notice that is different with Charlie Banana is that the pocket placement is in the front of the diaper instead of the back. Since this feature is in place you don't get any mess on your hands while unstuffing.

When you have the settings right with the elastic you get a perfect fit around the legs!

Charlie Banana is on the affordable side ranging from $18-$22 or you can buy a 6 pack which will save you a few dollars along the way at only $110.
So want one?!

why i cloth diaper

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 2:42 PM 10 commented
I've never actually asked myself this but recently someones outside opinion struck a chord with me. I bet they will be happy they "struck" tme and now provoked a blog post out of me. But no, this is not for them.

So why do we I use cloth?

Simple, it's cute.

The saving money part is great, yes. But I just love the pretty colors and how I can match Kendall's diaper with whatever she is wearing.

I try to be "green" but do I actually believe all the all the hype of disposables being bad for the planet. Not really.
Do I think it takes 500+ years for a disposable to decompose? No. How is that even proven anyway? Disposables haven't been around for 500 years.

Was I influenced by anyone to start using cloth? Sure, aren't we all in some way? Whether a friend told you about it, you researched it and you were influenced by what you found. Something or someone influences you. Do I use cloth because someone else does? Honestly, that's just dumb. Seriously. Dumb.

Why would I spend my money (Rockin Green, electric bill, water bill, on diapers, disposable inserts, extra washable inserts) and my time on something that I don't want to do? Why would I accept doing 3-4 more loads of laundry a week on just diapers alone, organizing, folding, stuffing. Why would I do all that just because someone else does it?

I cloth because I like to.

This time last year I thought cloth was the most disgusting thing EVER. Was I educated? No. Was I only making that assumption by looking at pictures and just the thought of using cloth? Yep. Then I began using them and I changed my mind.

Isn't it a good thing when you change your mind to a positive decision?

Well apparently when I personally do that it means I am just coping someone.

Well guess what. OH WELL!

I love cloth! <3

When we have more kids next year then they will have cloth on their little butts from day 1 and not because someone else does.

The end :)

**EDIT/ For those who asked. We have about 6-7 different brands in the house. I use Apple Cheeks then Charlie Banana. When those two brands are dirty I usually do laundry and throw Kendall in FuzziBunz while the wash is going. Other brands are good but I prefer Apple Cheeks over anything.
Hubby hates Apple Cheeks but loves Charlie Banana more. /EDIT**

bummis swim diaper review and giveaway

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 11:15 PM 188 commented
Summer is upon us and if you're like my family you're always at the pool. This week is very busy for us seeing that John is on vacation. We'll be going to 2 different water parks and 2 theme parks plus swimming at the pool all the time. If you cloth diaper like me then you probably still feel the need to put your babe in something that you can continue to reuse and that's where swim diapers come in the picture. Sure, you can go waste money on disposable swim diapers but what is honest the point in those? They still fill up with water and end up looking bulky like a regular disposable.

Madison Organics has helped make our summer easier when we're at the pool and water parks. We were sent a Bummis Swimmi. DDM is a huge fan of Madison Organics because they carry just about everything and every cloth diaper brands that we all love!

Bummis is a cloth diaper company that started in the 1980's! Bummis makes several different types of diapers that will fit anyone's need. But we're here because of their adorable Bummis Swimmis! Made with an interior polyester mesh for easy clean ups and a coated nylon layer sandwiched inside that will hold in the messiest stuff a baby can throw at you.

They are all made with an adjustable hook and loop closures for a snug and comfortable fit. Thankfully Kendall doesn't try to take off her diapers but eventually I do believe the velcro could become a problem for her curious little hands.
The Swimmis are a 4 sized diaper from S-XL. I'm not a huge fan of lots of different sizes because I feel like I'm still throwing money away since I'll have to buy the next size in who knows how long (depending on how fast my child grows). I must say, the plus is that you do truly get a perfect fit when you buy within their weight range. Your baby will definitely look cute and stylish at the pool with 5 different prints (yep prints, not solids!) to choose from. We received the Bubbles and it's so darn cute!

I am in love with this reuseable swim diaper and if you're in the market for a good quality diaper that does it's job at the pool then I recommed a Bummis Swimmi!!
You can have your baby swimming in style this summer with a Bummis Swimmi too!

Recently Itti Bitti was introduced to the USA and have been selling like hot cakes ever since! I told you about Itti Bitti's a few weeks ago in another giveaway. I was so excited when Itti Bitti sent me their Bitti Tutto and Bitti D'Lish to review, I heard about how soft these diapers were and was dying to try them. I can definitely tell you they are amazingly soft and I were I could wear them, lol. Now you can try the Bitti Tutto and Bitti D'Lish also since they have donated them to the giveaway!

Last but certainly not least we have the Calgary Cloth Diaper Co giving away 4 Baby Kanga diapers! Calgary Cloth Diaper Co is of course based out of Canada and a mom owned business. Accidentally falling into cloth diaper in 2005 and then adopting modern cloth diapers, Krissy wanted to make an online boutique to promote excellent cloth diapers for everyone. Krissy also offers a Newborn Rental Kit at just $40 a month for about 21 diapers and a pail liner to keep your little newborn's tush soft! If you've never heard of Baby Kangas cloth diapers then I'm happy to tell you about them. They actually come with a zipper pouch in the front of the diaper where you stuff the insert into. Very new and cool idea to keep the insert clean and in place. Plus, once soiled, just unzip and shake into your pail to remove it!

--------------------------------------

For the grand prize package #2, what I've dubbed the Stash Builder package we have the following amazing sponsors!

Fluffy Rumps comes from a mom owned and operated business making her very own soakers and covers! Cow Patties was founded in late 2007 when Megan starting sewing her own cloth diapers for her daughter and then began making diapers for friends. What's great about these diapers is that they are customized to your specific liking. There is a list of "In Stock" fabrics to choose from for your outer fabric or you can even ask for a special fabric not listed! Side snaps or front snaps, whatever you like you can have with these diapers. They look super cute and I'm bummed I didn't get to review one but once I convince the hubby I need more diapers then I really want to try these out! Sweet Sparrow Designs has donated 1 diaper, 1 wetbag and 1 set of reusable wipes!

Sponsor Spotlight - Graco

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 3:13 PM 395 commented

the next sponsor is one that is very well known and trusted in familes for year now, and I'm so excited to welcome them to the Bye Bye 'Sposies event.

Graco makes products with little ones in mind but also that are family friendly and that definitely make our lives easier. I'm sure something in your house is made by Graco, right? I know that we have a few things including our car seat and stroller combo.

Graco has offered a gorgeous little diaper bag for one DDM & Mama B reader because how else do you travel with all those cute cloth diapers?

I think the Quilted tall duffle bag is just right for any trip you need to make. It features a top zippered opening into a large main compartment. The interior has 2 compartments to keep you organized plus is with it's large capacity it's perfect for all your fluff and wetbag.
I love the side outside pockets for bottle storage or maybe a sippy cup for the toddler. It includes a soft padded changing bag and also has padded shoulder straps for for comfortable carrying.
Since Kendall loves her binkies, I know I would be using the two front zipper pockets for storing extra binkies, as she tends to lose them quite often, and other miscellanious things like medicines. The bottom zipper pocket is larger so since we use packet food (IE: Ella's Kitchen & Plum Organics) rather then plastic containers (think Gerber) would fit perfectly along with her spoons.

This diaper bag is also affordable at just $30 at Wal-Mart or other select online stores for purchase.

You Can Win The
