"Insert catchy title here"

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 10:48 PM
... yep that's the mood I'm in. I don't even want to title this entry! :) Sorry.
Today has been a chill day. The past week or so I've been on the move left and right and not really at home for too long. Finally today I stayed home. Well I went out for 10 minutes to pay a bill, but stayed home besides that.

I just have not been feeling good at all today and it sucks. I cannot get comfortable, Kendall has decided to use my bladder as a trampoline ALL day. It literally just feels like she's bouncing up and down on it. And I've been extremely tired. So not for nothing but my attitude and mood have not been the very best today.

On to other news. My midwife told me I was measuring about 27 weeks at my appointment this week (FYI, I'm in my 23rd week). Which I was like, wtf.... uhhhhh ok... that's like 4 weeks ahead.
Not to say that I was ever concerned, thinking she's going to be a big baby or thinking I was gaining too much weight but it's just weird to me.
I hate the idea of EDD's in the first place. OBVIOUSLY, they have to be in place but seriously, baby will come when baby will come. So all this crap of, "Oh you're 40 weeks... lets get this baby out..." UM NO THANKS! Makenna was 41 weeks before I went into labor with her. So if someone is telling me I'm "measuring" 27 weeks is just like a "who gives a fuck" thought in my head. So wow, good for me, according to a ruler my uterus is bigger then what you (or any doctor... or whoever) thinks I should be?

Today I asked mom's on Twitter if they were ever told that and I LOVE that I had sooo many mommy's responding back telling me that they too were told at most they were 4 weeks ahead and pretty much (to me) their babies were of normal birth weight.

I'm just sorta annoying with the whole thing. Especially because she made a comment about my weight and about how I gained "too much weight this past month" APPARENTLY. Which btw, I'm pretty much at the weight of a normal woman my age and maybe even my height so in no way shape or form am I becoming fat in this pregnancy.

Sorry about my bitching, again, I'm not feeling good at all today so maybe I'm just taking it out on my blog :) But that's my story.

I think it's much harder for them to really tell how large an unborn baby is, than teh doctors will admit. Also they refuse to admit that a slight varience in how large the baby is, does NOT always mean that you are 'farther' or 'less far' along than you should be based on the babys size. I hear stories about women being told they have gained 'too much' weight yet the baby is the most average sized baby in the world, once it's born. I've also heard stories, like how my cousin was told that she wasn't as far along as they had previosuly thought, because the baby was too small. She said 'well, i'm 5 2. couldnt my baby just be a little small?' and they said 'nope, we were definitely wrong earlier, you're definitely not as far alonga s we thought' yet, she had her baby "three weeks early" and he was 8 lbs and 2 oz! After the birth she asked if he seemed early at all and the nurse said 'no, see how his skin is kind of 'wrinkled' like ours is after being in a bath for too long? he was definitely ready!'

So I don't think they ever really know for sure, haha.

Man thats gotta be so frustrating! I don't see why doctors don't just admit that they don't know it all in some cases. It's obvious that it's not an 'exact science' just when you look at how often pregnant women's due dates get changed around. My sister is due "around" august, haha. but her due date has changed twice already and she has a long time to go yet. Will be interesting to see when she delivers though because the first date they had given here was exactly the day that my cousin is getting married, and I'm one of her bridesmaids, but my sister has asked me to be in the room when she delivers - so I might end up having to leave the wedding which would be awful. So I'm hoping she has the baby at least a couple of days before the wedding, because if she's still pregnant the day of we will all be holding our breath hoping she makes it through the day, haha.
