I was extremely excited when I was given the opportunity to review Belly Charms! When I was pregnant with my first daughter in 2004 I knew there would come a time where I'd have to take my cute belly ring out. I had already had my belly button pierced for about 6 years or so I wasn't concerned with it closing up but I just hated taking it out. the day finally came around 8 months along that my precious bar had to come out. :(

Getting pregnant again one of my initial thoughts was, "great, I wonder when my bar has to come out!"
I had never heard of pregnancy belly button rings before I stumbled upon Belly Charms. I found out the owner is a Florida resident, but lives a few hours north of me, so of course the shipping was very quick. When my package arrived I found 2 charms, a necklace & a maternity shirt! :)

The bars are made of the most unique, flexible PTFE Maternity / Pregnancy Belly Button Rings available. PTFE is a flexible and safe surgical tubing that is used in body piercings. Prices start at only $3.99!!
It's great because it does flex with your growing belly. A normal steel bar becomes very uncomfortable and of course with your growing belly it can eventually tear your skin if you leave it on through-out pregnancy.

Most of the flexible barbells come longer then normal because it gives you the ability to cut it and rethread it to any length that is comfortable to you. Sonya gives a very detailed tutorial on how to rethread the top ball back on once you cut it down to size. I still have yet to cut mine down because I have just been so unsure on how big my still growing belly will become.

Regardless of the bar being a bit too long still, I LOVE that I have still been able to wear it at 29 weeks! Ever since getting my belly pierced I just do not feel comfortable when I take the bar out so even though I'm pregnant I love that I can still keep a piece of who I am, even if no one understands it.

The acrylic belly ring I received came a lot shorter then the pink carriage (pictured above). I wear this bar when I have tighter fitting clothing on or when I'm wearing my Bella Band. The long pink carriage gets pushed against my skin (from a tight shirt or Bella Band) and leaves a nice indent that does not feel so great so that's why I tend to stick with this bar in those cases. 

Like I said Sonya also sent me the "Girl" pendent with necklace! 

John actually wears this necklace, not me. He instantly claimed it as his

own when I took it out of the box, lol. He gets lots of questions of it (of course since he's a guy wearing a bright pink necklace, lol) but loves the attention since he gets to talk about his little girl on the way! :) We were advised NOT to take this in the shower or pool with you though, so that's been one thing we both try to remember to do on a daily basis since we usually leave our jewelry on in the shower/pool.
