By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 5:15 PM 3 commented
So wow, you guys are crazy for Summer Infant! Which is good because I love bringing you guys AMAZING products! Of course you know I'll have more from them and tons of other great companies coming up!

So... let's get to the good stuff!
An out of this world number of comments were made
8,434 to be exact. And uhhh it was not easy finding the winner.

Let me first tell you about a problem I had :(
I picked a winner. She did not have her email in the comment OR her blogger profile. I can't read minds so if you dont have your email where I can find it then how are you going to win a prize?

But of course that gave another person the change to have this great high chair!

I will email the winner and she will have 24 hours to respond. If she does not email me back I will be *forced* to pick another winner.

This was amazing and I'm sooo glad to see that you all love LIVE giveaways! I will definitely have to set this up again some time soon. Let's see if we can make a new record!!

Hayneedle - Storkcraft Monique Crib Review & Giveaway

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 12:26 PM 542 commented
Hayneedle.com is another one of those amazing sites that has pretty much everything you ever need on one convenient site. I love Hayneedle though because they carry the greatest brands and comparable prices - even down to regular disposable diapers!
Hayneedle has a collection of over 200 online stores that each offer price guarantee... so if you find a site with a better price, let them know and they will match it! So really, there isn't a need to shop at store to store and pay lots os shipping & handling fees.

I was so excited when I found Cribs.com which is one of the 200+ stores under Hayneedle. I fell in love when Hayneedle said they would send me the Storkcraft Monique 4-1 Crib. All the baby cribs were wonderful but I loved the smooth lines and finish on the Monique.

This lovely box was suppose to arrive at my house just 6 days after it was shipped. Due to the storms that were going on from Oregon to the mid west this delayed the delivery of the crib :(
Sad yes but I know it was not Hayneedle's fault, so I can 100% say that I am confident in the fast shipping that Hayneedle provides.
The box was huge and really heavy so once we opened it I knew we were in for a long night of assembly. I was pleasently surprised that the instructions were so clear and easy to follow. It only took DH & I about 35 minutes to put together and be ready for Kendall to sleep in.

The Storkcraft Monique is extremely sturdy and solid. Our old crib along with others we have looked into pretty much fell short in the "solid" category. Always feeling flimsy or that they could tip over with even the lightest touch. Of course that may be an exageration but even still, I don't have that worry with this crib.

It goes so well with the other furniture we have in Kendall's crib although they are not part of the Storkcraft set.

Hayneedle has such a large selection of nursery furniture and baby gear though that I'm pretty sure I'm going to be shopping some time soon so I can get the rest of the set from them!

Hayneedle makes it so simple to connect to them via Twitter, Facebook or even their blog!

You can purchase directly from the Cribs.com website!
Hayneedle has offered a DDM winner the chance to pick out their favorite crib bedding set. The value has to be $100 or under.

Summer Infant **LIVE** Giveaway

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 1:29 PM 4919 commented

GO TO PAGE 2 OF THIS GIVEAWAY TO LEAVE COMMENTS!!

Summer Infant has been a trusted brand since 1984 because of their comprehensive variety of baby products/gear. When you go shopping I'm sure that Summer Infant is either the designer, marketer, the distributor... or all three!

I love that when you shop with Summer Infant it can really be your one-stop-shop for all things baby. They carry clothes, gear, bath, travel, sleep, gates, monitors... I can go on and on!
The newest thing they provide is the Carter's Classic Comfort Wood High Chair. There is a few different collections to choose from but we received the Animal Parade style.

I love love love that the high chair blends in with the style I am into - classic, modern and contemporary all in one. The hard wood is so sturdy, the padded seat can be easily clean with just a wipe of a cloth.

The wood is a beautiful espresso so I think it can fit into anyones house without being an eye sore and screaming, "Hey! A baby lives here!!!" <-- I kinda hate that.
Although it's wood it still has a 3 position reclining back. The recline has helped us when Kendall couldn't quite sit on her own yet but it was still time to feed her. What I also love is if she falls asleep in her chair I can just recline her back so she can continue to sleep in comfort.

The print on the pad is so incredible cute. The only problem? Kendall has a hard time sitting forward when it's time to eat! She always tries to turn around to grab and stare at the elephant, lion and zebra.

The 4 position, front adjustable tray comes with a dishwasher safe top tray that is so easy to clean. There's no crazy tiny holes that you have to find a small object to clean it with, nothing. Just wipe and you're done.

Also, we have a 5-point safety straps to keep your baby where they should be-in the chair! So for all your parents with wiggly infants and toddlers, rest assure this chair will definitely keep them in too.

The only thing I must point out is before you start the maybe stressful job of assembling the chair together (complete assembly is required). We put it together once the kids were in bed but let me tell you.. we did not have enough caffeen in our system because we almost lost it.
There are a lot of pieces and a lot of directions. It took us about 1 hour to assemble, and thats because we accidently put a couple pieces in the wrong place a couple times.
At the end how ever long it takes to put the chair together it's well worth it. I don't believe we will ever have to give up this chair. It's here to say and hopefully I can use it for my grandchildren (AHHHH!!)

The ARV of the Carter's Classic Comfort Wood High Chair is about $180

Bravado Designs Allure Nursing Bra Review and Giveaway

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 9:38 AM 463 commented
It's been a hard rode and even with Aunt Flow coming back I've had my struggles.
Thankfully I've had Bravado Designs by my side to help me pump as long as I could.
If you've never checked them out Bravado Designs carries many different styles of bra and tanks to help our job as mommies breastfeed as long as we can/want. Bravado Designs is owned by two moms who have build a reputation by making strong, comfortable & stylish nursing attire.
Bravado Designs sent me their Allure Nursing Bra
"A revolution in underwire nursing bra design, the Allure Underwire Nursing Bra combines Bravado Designs' expertise in innovative bra development with our extensive knowledge of your need for good breast health and comfort, to create a bra that you will love and feel fabulous wearing."

I'm one of those moms who has to wear an underwire. The girls are definitely not where they are suppose to after breastfeeding/pumping for two daughter's now, if you know what I mean. Although, I don't need padding, the Allure is lightly padded which I found helps keep those unsightly nursing pads out hidden so I am left with a smooth front side.
I love that the fabric is so lightweight and breathable so it can help keep your ladies cool and dry.
The clip is probably aone of my other favorite features. It was so easy to clip and unclip even with one hand!
Have you ever had a day where you full just a bit more full then the day or even hour before? We all know our cup size flucuates when we're pregnant and/or breastfeeding. Bravado Designs knows this so they combined sizes! If you normally wear a B cup you'll purchase a B/C. There is also D/DD (which is also known as an E). The only size I think they are missing is a C/D so I hope for some of you moms out there they make that size.
The Allure Nursing Bra only comes in Black & Ivory. I think different colors and shades would be awesome to add to the collection since it's so hard to find a pretty colored nursing bra on the market.

You can purchase the Allure Nursing Bra for just $54

Working Bug

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 12:25 PM 5 commented
Don't get me wrong, I love being a stay at home mom but sometimes, just sometimes I wish I had a part-time job! I could go out 2-3 days a week for amybe 4-5 hours, interact with other adults and have conversations that don't have to do with "eat your dinner!", "did you poop again?"
I found http://www.workingmums.co.uk/ which might be able to help though! They help people find a full time or part time job and this might be the answer to my prayers. Workingmums.co.uk gives support, advice, a career tool kit, and so much more.
I love that they have a "Ask the Expert" area so you can so any of your concerns about returning to work can be answered.

Right now I'm just torn, do I or don't I? I don't want to put Kendall in day care what so ever so if I go back to work (for my sanity) DH & I would have to figure out something with our scheduling. Maybe I can leave Kendall with my parents, but at the end of the day I know Kendall (and Makenna) would be happier staying with one of their parents.

This is not an easy decision and I've been debating over it for a while now. Even now, I don't think I'm going to be able to make up my mind for a while.

My Big Girl

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 10:18 AM 3 commented
I been having a major problem. My baby is getting older!
I keep gowing through her clothes and finding it harder and harder to find clothes that fit her. Kendall is going to be 6 months on Tuesday and I don't want to buy her new clothes. Sounds weird but I want to keep her small so maybe if I keep her in her 3-6 months size clothes it'll keep her that way?

It's just not fair at all. She needs to stay cute and tiny forever.
I know I have to buy her some more clothes so I've been looking into baby clothes online. Buying online is a bit more fun to me because when I find stores like Very, I know not many babies in my area will be wearing the same thing. Even though Kendall is a baby I still like to dress her as original as I can find. I'm already not liking her stroller set anymore because every trip we make out we see other parents stroller their daughter in the same exact stroller/carseat.

So shopping will need to happen that's for sure.

Maclaren - Junior Quest Activity Set Review & Giveaway

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 10:04 PM 332 commented
We all know it's a hard transition when we bring a new baby home from the hospital. No matter how amazing of a child you have, I'm sure at some point you will see a little jealousy come through their precious little hearts.
Maclaren has made it a little easier for older siblings to welcome home their new baby sister or brother. Your daughter (or son) can now take care of their baby dolls just like you're taking care of the new baby in the house.
This realistic 5 piece set is pretty new to the Maclaren family but I personally hope it's here to stay.

It all began in 1965 when Owen Maclaren designed and patented his prototype Baby Buggy -- the B-01. The iconic blue and white stripes and aluminium frame imparts a vintage style that is popular and modern today.
Nothing was held back when making the Maclaren Junior Quest Activity Set either. The fabric is strong, the colors are bold and even the pieces are made out of actual metal aluminium. So believe me, this is not some cheap play set you buy at your local store. This set can hold up to the toughest play sessions.
We were sent the "By Land, By Air, By Sea" set so it's a gorgeous bright red with cars, hot air balloons, airplanes, birds, boats, ect! SO CUTE!

I was told I must include Makenna's baby names. Her orders :)
 The set includes:
  • Day Time Rocker
  • Quest Umbrella Buggy
  • Night time Travel Cot
  • Carrying case for travel cot (not pictured)
  • Diaper Bag (we had it hanging on the back of the stroller I have pictured)
Again, I love this line and Makenna loves playing with it all the time. When Kendall is in her bouncer Makenna puts her baby in the rocker so they can match.
Like I mentioned before I think this is the perfect gift for any new sibling so then they can pretend to be a new mommy/daddy also. Playing with toys that resemble the new baby things that are probably taking over the house could definitely make them feel a little more at ease and included in all the new changes.

The Junior Quest Activity Set sells for $75. It can be purchased at select retailers, one of them being diapers.com

You can win a Maclaren Junior Quest Activity Set!!

Apple Cheeks Cloth Diaper Review & Giveaway

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 7:40 PM 921 commented
**CLOSED**

Next up on my cloth diaper adventures are Apple Cheeks! I've heard so many amazing things about these diapers that I had to try them for myself.
So far..? We love them!
I was sent a Little Bundle (which is cover and insert set), a pack of diaper liners, reusable wipes and cleansing spray.
Some people like the "fluffy" butt look... I do not. Instantly I loved how trim the diaper I received was. If you do not know, Apple Cheeks are made in Canada where they've been tested on the babies of the makers so you know they work and stand up to all the washing you may put them through.

The diaper I received come with a Rayon Bamboo insert and a Envelope Cover. Why do I love it so much? Because you can use it a few different ways! You can either place the insert on top and come diaper duty time simply change out the insert and continue to use the cover OR stuff the insert inside the pocket, which means these can be used as AI2's or pockets. You gotta love the versatility!

I'll let you read directly from the site to get a better idea!

All AppleCheeks™ cloth diapers and accessories are proudly designed and manufactured in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and have been tested on our own babies, so we know they work! Our diapers fit a larger range of babies than similar products on the market, and stand up better to the rigours of the washing cycle. They are fully customizable and can be used as a diaper cover over our viscose from bamboo inserts, with boosters for added absorbency if so desired, and fleece liners to keep baby’s skin dry and rash-free. Alternately, the handy, wide envelope opening allows you the option of placing your absorbency underneath the microfleece lining, wicking moisture away from baby’s skin and keeping him feeling nice and dry while still absorbing to the max! So many options in one diapering system!
AppleCheeks™ 2-Size Envelope Covers also fit nicely over a wide variety of fitted diapers. With the AppleCheeks™ system you will get less leaks and a much trimmer fit than with using fitted cloth diapers. AppleCheeks™ covers feature a unique envelope design, similar to a pocket diaper, but with NO NEED TO UNSTUFF. The absorbent inserts come right out in the wash!
So how does the diaper really hold up? AMAZING! It is extremely absorbent and fit so nicely around Kendall's chunky little legs!
The inner layer of the diaper is micro-fleece and it's incredibly soft and with elastic around the waist, also paired with the two rows of snaps gives you an adjustable, fit that's easy to do. An added plus is that I never saw those nasty red marks around Kendall's legs, so I know Kendall was never in pain while wearing this diap. AppleCheeks fits babies from birth to potty training and come in 2 sizes. Their size 1 fits from 7 - 20lbs, and size 2 fits from 18 - 40lbs!

I used the diaper as a pocket with the insert folded into thirds and I placed two disposable liners on top. Within a couple minutes Kendall went number 1 and I was surprised that the pee didn't leak through to the actual cover. Believe me, I was surprised because the disposable liners are extremely thin and my guess is that they were only there to catch the poo and protect the diaper. So yay, it stopped pee too!

Later in the day she finally leaked through the liners and the diaper was soaked. No leaks though! I didn't even realize I had to change her but since it had been a while I checked and that's when I discovered how wet she was. Through all that pee the diaper stayed just as trim and tight, it never looked saggy or anything.

If I could afford it I'd build my entire stash around these diapers 100%.

Each AppleCheeks Diap sells for around $19.80 USD
You can buy directly from the AppleCheek's online shop.

1st Winner: One AppleCheeks Little Bundle (cover + insert)
