Cloth Diaper Event!

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 9:19 AM
It's finally time for me to tell you about this amazerful cloth diaper event that's getting put together! If you haven't noticed I haven't been cloth diapering for long but so far, we're in love. Getting DH on board has been a little difficult but I will make him a fan if it's the last thing I do!

Getting sponsors together for this event has been going great and when they are revealed you are going to flip!
Like any event there will of course be a ton of reviews and giveaways, but what makes this event different is that you will be seeing interviews from cloth diaper experts, some cloth 101 education, and so so much more! And a little FYI: I'm working with an amazing cloth diapering mom on this event so guess what that means for you.... DOUBLE the chance to win all the fabulous prizes we'll have!!

So let's get some Q&A questions answered shall we? Please help a sista out!

Why did you start cloth diapering?

What are your favorite cloth diaper types and brands?

Can you give me some of your best cloth tips or advice?

What is holding you back from tryng cloth diapers?

More information, sponsor spotlights, extra entry posts and a pretty little button for you to grab will be posted in the coming weeks so be on the look out!!!

OMG! So excited about your CD event!!!

Why did you start cloth diapering?

When I was pregnant I read about how long it takes ONE disposable diaper to decompose and I knew I didn't want to contribute to that!

What are your favorite cloth diaper types and brands?

LOVE hook & loop AIOs - BG AIO are wonderful! So sad they discontinued! Also love Bummis Easy Fits!

Can you give me some of your best cloth tips or advice?

Rinse the poo ones right after to help prevent stains...use dryer balls to speed up dry time! :) Keep working with DH and explain to him how much it means to you...my DH started using cloth after 5 months of me using it because he said he wanted to support me in something he knew meant a lot to me. :) You can convert him!!

What is holding you back from tryng cloth diapers?

Nothing - I am in love with it! :)

Why did you start cloth diapering? I started cloth diapering at the insistance of my friend. It did seem logical since I had a 12 month old and twins on the way. I love it now. I hate it when my husband puts the boys in disposables when there are clean cloth diapers just because he is lazy.

What are your favorite cloth diaper types and brands? I love fitteds and covers. When the twins were newborns, they lived in prefolds and covers. For the sitter and my husband, they like bg 3.0. I really like AppleCheeks as well!

Can you give me some of your best cloth tips or advice? Get a coth diaper detergent. I love RockinGreen detergent. i use that on all my clothes. Also figure out what washing system works for you. There are many tips out there about how to wash your diapers effectively, but it may be different for you and your washer/and how much time you have to wash. I also suggest having some diapers that are daddy/babysitter/grandparent friendly (ie mostly All in ones or make sure to have some stuffed and ready to go.)

Why did you start cloth diapering?

I started cloth diapering 7 months ago, when my baby was born, because I feel irresponsible to add so much trash to the landfills... Also, I feel good that my baby does not have to "sit in pee" for hours, as cloth diapers encourage you to change the baby often.

What are your favorite cloth diaper types and brands?
I bought REAL NAPPIES birth to potty pack. It works out great for us. I love the fact that you wash the insert and do not have to wash the cover every time and also you can use disposable but BIODEGRADABLE liners for number 2..

Can you give me some of your best cloth tips or advice?

Buy enough cloth diapers to last you through 2 days, that way you are much less likely to go on a cloth diaper strike:)

What is holding you back from trying cloth diapers?

When I was just considering cloth, I thought it would be so hard. This is so untrue.. It is not hard to keep up with laundry, when you have enough diapers and it is so much better for the earth and the baby!

Exciting! :)

Why did you start cloth diapering?

We started CDing full-time about 2 weeks ago. We started mainly because of savings, but also because I am trying to be greener with my lil girl (3mos). Plus, I didn't like the way her little bum would look irritated from the disposables.

What are your favorite cloth diaper types and brands?

So far I really like pockets, fitteds or prefolds with covers. I'm loving Thirsties and Fuzzibunz right now, but I don't have many different brands.

Why did you start cloth diapering?
Hubby will tell you it was because of the
economical reasons. I'll tell you it's for
the health benefits and environmental
benefits.

What are your favorite cloth diaper types and brands?
We're a pockets and fitteds/covers family.
I'm just starting to delve into the wool
world. (And I'm very upset that Nifty Nappy
is shutting down... My first fitteds & wool
are from her... )

Can you give me some of your best cloth tips or advice?
Don't fear the unknown. The only way to find
what truly works for you is to try!

What is holding you back from tryng cloth diapers?
The start up costs were what held us back.
But in the long run, it's completely worth
it!
