27 weeks

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 12:00 AM
Ah my little cauliflower at around 2 1/2 lbs & 14 1/2 inches! It's just incredible that she is sleeping and waking at regular intervals. What's even more so amazing is that she actually sleeps at night with me. Let's hope this trend continues once she's born!
Supposedly I should be able to feel when she has hiccups sometime around now but that hasn't happened yet. She is moving like CRAZY though & I swear she thinks she's already at the Gymnastic Olympics... or at least she's training for them because she is constantly tossing and turning like she has all the space in the world to do so. It's especially annoying when she stops in the weirdest position so then I have to push her down to get her out of my ribs or what feels like her leg already coming out of the birth canal!

On another note I am officially in my 7th month and 3rd trimester! It seems so weird and surreal & I know I probably say that every week but it still holds true. My pregnancy with Makenna seemed like there was a beginning & end without the middle so I honestly can hardly remember anything. I know for a fact I didn't count every week or keep track of things that happened every week (like this pregnancy) so that's probably why I feel like this pregnancy is going by so slow... but yet so fast! 13 more weeks... TWELVE! 92 more days. It really feels like yesterday I was just saying that I WAS 13 weeks pregnant. January 27th feels like it was no time ago and realistically we're already in May.
We are getting closer to filling our list of stuff that we have ready for Kendall. YAY! Oddly enough we have 3 strollers. All are different though so I'm excited about using each of them. We have a jogging single stroller (the 3 wheeled kind), a double stroller and a light-weight single stroller. We have decorations for her nursery all set up & ready to go up on the walls, & her crib. Next step is getting her car seat. I really wanted a matching set but nothing will go with the 3 strollers we have so now I am changing my plan of attack on the whole car seat thing and just picking 1 we love.

Dang that's crazy that the school was stupid to you about it. The divorce rate is over 50 percent now, that leaves more than half of kids being NOT with both of their parents, and i'm sure for a ton of them that means their mom has a different last name than they seems how most of the time kids are left with their moms, and moms tend to remarry. How lame.

W/ my sister she was already in the processes of being adopted when she started preschool right after she turned 4, and my mom went in and asked if they could just have the school call her by what her last name was going to be, instead of what it legally was at the time. But the school understood and it was never an issue, and then over the fall (a little more than 2 years later) it finally did get changed to what my little sister always thought her last name as anyway.

Hopefully everything goes smoothly for you, from what I understand it varies a LOT by state and even by county. There has been a lot of legal stuff going on in the county that we ewnt thru with Jorden, because the system is really messed up. I don't know if the story got out of michigan or not, but in our area about a year and a half or two years ago, there was a little boy who was autistic, and he was taken away for good reasons, like his parents were really young and were being mentally abusive and stuff because they couldn't handle his autism and stuff. Well he got placed with this couple who had never done foster care, but were starting out as a new foster family, and within like 2 months of being placed there he went missing. And so there was this huge search for him, with TONS of people came in to help and stuff. Well they finally found him and they determined that he had been beat to death with a hammer, and it wound up being the foster dad.

So they've started making new foster families go thru WAY more classes and stuff before they can foster, and if people are in situations like ours, where my parents don't want to be foster parents, but they have a family member who is facing foster care if they don't go somewhere, that family still has to go thru foster care classes and parenting classes, etc.

That all happened before Jordens adoption was finalized, but it had already started so we didn't have to deal with any of it but I think it just shows how messed up the system was that we had to deal with.

What an adorable little belly you have you cute little thing! So glad things are going smoothly for you and little Kendall is allowing you to get some sleep. Like you, I remember the beginning and end of my pregnancy but not the middle at all. Hahaha. I do remember the kicks in the ribs and some uncomfortable positions my daughter would move around in. ;) Look forward to hearing how it all works out :)
