surprising a teacher! elmer's "bag it forward" #bagitforward #collectivebias

By Jennifer (Double Duty Mommy) at 12:12 PM
I am so excited to have taken part in the Elmer's Bag It Forward program. What is Bag It Forward exactly? Well for the past few weeks people around the country have been filling backpacks with school supplies and donating them to kids in need, teachers and schools in their communities. The Best part? You can take part in this fun and amazing project, too, and make a donation in your own community!
When you’re finished, you can share the pictures of your experience on the Bag It Forward website.

Makenna is pretty sad about leaving Kindergarten because her teacher was the best. Mrs. V was the sweetest, most fun and loving teacher I've ever met too so I'm not surprised all the kids love her.
So this week we decided that we should buy her school supplies even though Makenna won't be in her class this year.
We headed to Wal-Mart for supplies and of course Elmer's products since they are always needed in the classroom!
We went to a different Wal-Mart so I was already in for an adventure but change is always good... right?
It took a minute but we found lots school supplies and some Elmer's products like Elmer's X-TREME school glue sticks!

Since this wasn't our usually Wal-Mart I was completely lost and had a hard time finding a lot of Elmer's products. I finally found the office area where there was a small section of products but not nearly as much as I was hoping for.
After some more shopping around the store (pop-tarts, Rio and baby crayons were for us, not the teacher. lol) we were ready to go and surprise the Mrs. V. at school. Yesterday happened to be the teacher's first day back so they were all in a meeting when we got there :( I had to leave it at the front desk but I attached a note. Later I got a phone call and a huge Thank You from Makenna's Kindergarten teacher!

Check out my This Moment shop experience for more pictures!

This project has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Elmer’s #BagItForward #collectivebias. All opinions are my own and I'm 100% happy I got to join in this program!

We participated in Bag it Forward last year and put together 10 backpacks for children in my husband's National Guard unit. Love what you did, here!

One year my work had a similar program. I loved filling the backpacks because back to school shopping is so cheap.
